Re: More Myths About About Blacks and Racist Cops

I agree that the characters were stereotypical portrayals of Hollywood's view of the various ethnic groups.

You had the angry black man who finds a racist concept behind everything.

The 'colorblind' white guy.

You have the light skinned black man who is torn between selling out and keeping his "ghetto pass."

You have the crazy middle eastern shop keeper who goes to by a gun, which he uncontrollably uses.

You have the shady china man trafficking human cargo.

You have two black brothers...one (in an interracial relationship) who followed the 'straight' path while the other has lost his way. Their black mother is portrayed as weak and senile.

You have the latino family man who is portrayed as a gang member.

And of course I cant forget about the angry poor white working class cop who is really not racist but only frustrated by his father's ailment and the system turning its back on him. His heroic act reedemed his behavior done out of frustration.

You notice that Matt Dillion was said to give the greatest performance of all the actors.

I wonder why?

But what can u expect from Follywood?

Give thanks for the article.

Peace
