Re: What does it mean to be black in the 21st cent

Greetings
"They have a powerful education system (which empowers their children more than ours), they have an effective law-and-order system (which discriminates against ours, but protects their own), they have a stable political system (which maintains the power of the mainly white elite), they have a discriminatory economic system, but that system is fairly effective at creating white wealth (even though it is at the expense of the oppressed). Again, Marcus sought for us to achieve these things, through Black unity, because it was white unity (british, french, italians, irish, all uniting under their white 'melting pot' banner) that accomplished their things. Also we sought to do it under the banner of Love, Justice, Equality for all (something they were not able to adhere to)."

It seems as if you admire the European sytems. You say you dont like the methods but you seem to love the outcome...as if InI should duplicate it.

What law and order system is effective without justice? You cant just dismiss the fact that injustices occur to "minority" people. Therefore it is not effective....unless you calling the destruction of black and brown people "effective."

How is their educational system powerful? They are teaching lies to the youths. It is more a miseducational system for blacks and white people alike. The so called knowledge they learn is not empowering their children. It is merely teaching them how to pimp the system and the people to obtain riches like their foreparents before them.

Stable Political system? Polytricks is no more stable than who is handing out the soft money that particular day.

Effective Economical system...you mean the one that is about to collapse any moment now?

Marcus wanted InI to achieve self determination, organize and centralize.

But did he want to imitate the system that the Europeans had in place?

Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

I think Marcus Garvey just wanted for black people to be left alone to flourish under InI own banner...not by trying to imitate a dysfunctional Euro-centric system.

Peace
