"It was not White power or mulatto power. It was BLACK POWER!" - Selassielive.

If that is agreed, then what is the arguement about? The ones who uphold the LITERAL meaning have made themselves clear. The ones who originated the slogan did not qualify it because thier aim was clear. 'Black Power' is a word to empower. It calls on what is unique and the ONLY thing that all African descendants (Black, Brown or Red) have in common.

What it looks like, when one hears objections to this literal interpretation, is that the slogan 'Black Power' is being qualified. It seems it no longer has the literal meaning and it brings forth a question : why would anyone who claims to be 'fair minded' object to the upraising of something that was cast down and has been trampled on by so many for so long? This may be what would causes ones on the recieving end to react with high emotion.

A circular arguement, where the same points keep getting beat on is a dysfunction. If any part of a statement is to be proven wrong, pick out THAT error and show the fact that ought to be in its place.

Now, below is a statement and it is what I base my interpretation of BLACK POWER on. If it is wrong, please SHOW how.

The first Africans were BLACK and they were greater than any human that followed them (including Kings/Queens and Emperors/Empresses). This assertion is/was made evident by the practices followed by these descendants (including Haile Selassie I), practices which were ORIGINATED by those who had gone before (i.e. the first Africans). The greatest things that were done by the ones who followed the first ancestors were done using the tools created by these first ones to interpret/manipulate whatever the current reality was. "There is nothing new under the Sun" is a saying that was old before the birth of the first Emperor of Ethiopia. Therefore, the ones who existed when ALL was new under the Sun, are the greatest humans who have ever existed. So, why should any body (apart from thier creator) be placed above them?
