Re: Diluted Rastafari Icon?

Now, it is interesting to note that this forum and all of us that appreciate this mechanism for communication continue to engage in the use of such offensive words as the one stated above.

Whatever brings Africans to the table to discuss issues related to development, peace, justice, rconcilliation, economic empowerment and unity; I would think would be appreciated, whether or not we agree on what motivated us to to come to the table to discuss such issues. I take personal offense (as I am sure you may not care) to the words that you have used in reference to Haile Selassie, Diasporan Africans and other Africans that you seem to hold in contempt, based on this statement:
=============
"The Ethiopians, Somalians, Djiboutians, Eastern Africans, and Arabic Africans are in fact VERY LIGHT SKINNED BLACKS WITH AFROS. They truly hate being called "black" on account of their Semitic origin. They are the products of the Semites who infiltrated Africa in trickles and in waves and established themselves in the North and East Africa using the scheme of taking the African/the pure black women, while declaring the children part of the Semitic culture!
--------------------
of course, you cant confirm that this stement is true, as a matter of FACT, i am sitting next to a somalian colleague as we speak, and i asked him man to man his idea on this statement-he acknowledges that there are obvious arab influences in his culture, but he identifies himself as an african. i could ASSUME that you may bge PURE BLACK, but you have chosen to come to the United States, Babylon. i could ASSUME that your response would be you came to America because there is war in the congo, people being murdered blah, blah, blah, stuff;(ie: "...the mythic origin of the ruling house/dynasty of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba son; ie his title King of Kings, Haile Seassie /Ras Tafari I, the Lion of Judha..bla..bla..bla stuff.") and i could ASSUME based on your coming to the US, that you rejected asylum/safety/assistance, in other African countrries, because you really want to be an American. Assumptions will not get us very far, as they lead more confusion.

It is great that ones love themselves, but it is not necessary to disrespect and diminish the contribution of others in the pursuit of loving ones self
