Re: What does it mean to be black in the 21st cent

"Selassielive, I understand your complex. You may have some white ancestry in your past, and may even be of a fairer hue than some of your peers or family members. Thus, you seek to separate yourself by your ‘brown hue’. I think that contrary to what you have responded, you are very uncomfortable with the issue of colourism."

Dont make me laugh Leslie. You have no knowledge about my lineage. But nice try on your attempt to create one.

What I am uncomfortable with is you and your friends' generalizations of Afrikanness.

You are your friends are not the authority on Afrikanness.

Your opinions are noted but dont think you are going to bully me into fall into your line off thinking.

If you and you friends think I am lost on this issue, then that is your right.

I have placed my picture on this site in the past.

Why cant ones go and search the archives for that since some are so prolific at doing so?

I have no desire to be white, to be with a white women, nor be with a bi-racial woman.

But I will not dis a black woman (black parents) because she is not blue black.

That is absurd in my opinion...

It is ironic that the ones in the debate are not blue-black afrikans (ikons) themselves...

So maybe I should not give any credence to their words..

So who's next in their attempt to "enlighten" me by telling me how "lost" I am on this matter?

It is so funny that ones are saying that they dont like to use the word "black", yet when describing Afrikans who are better to lead, they use "blue-BLACK" to describe them.

Why is not another word used?

The genetic "100% Afrika" line of reasonings were attempted but debunked.

So what now?

I think ones need to check again who has the "complex".
