The call for a RASTAFARI REFORMATION has been going on for years. We say to reorganize the Rastafari Secret Societies and Orders. These Orders and Societies must be dedicated to the upliftment of Black people globally and to the positive change needed in the African and Rastafari mind.
Anytime we continue to believe in the idea that we must be poor, downtrodden and living in the worse conditions because that is what 'God' is supposed to want for us in order for us to go to heaven, THEN SOMEONE HAS TO SMELL 'SLAVERY TRICKERY.'
Africans have 20,000 years of uninterrupted civilization, beginning in the Sahara (prehistoric Zingh Empire) and continuing to the African kingdoms and systems that still exist today.
We should be in the forefront of making sure that the AFRICAN RENAISSANCE THAT NELSON MANDELA CALLED FOR BECOMES REAL. We cannot move forward if we are stagnant in our thinking. Rastafari is about moving into the future and preserving the good things of the past.
We also have to go beyond the current Rastafari paradigm. The roots of Rastafari is the ancient Egyptian/Kushite warrior-priesthood. It was the ancestors of Rastafari (the Priests of Amun) who drove the Hyksos out of Egypt and liberated it after 400 years of racist oppression. How many Rastas know that history? How many Rastas know that it was from the philosophy of ancient Egypt and Kush as well as the Manding-Kongo cosmogony that much of the Hebrew and Christian religions we follow came out of.
Hence, it makes sense for Rasta to organize their scholars, their teachers, their writers to go back to gather what was positive in our past and use it for our upliftment.
We must be about self-preservation more than chanting, praising and worshipping. Slaves did all that. It was when they found themselves and their purpose that they organize for their freedom. As long as our religious beliefs are being used to keep us mentally stagnant, WHILE ALL TYPES OF RACISM AND BARBARISM IS GOING ON, we will remain behind.
Today, we live in a world where racism/supremacy is the religion. Rastafari must return to its agenda and that is to fight, fight and fight and to win the war againts Black downpression.
Supremacy and anti-Black barbarism and evil anti-christ (meaning anti Black, anti-annointed) racism is so widespread that in America, a 'half-American' whose parents come from Southern Europe can be placed in a position where he or she can tamper with the human rights of Blacks.
The solution to that insult is definitely SELF-DETERMINATION AND BLACK NATION BUILDING. Yet, where is the push for that aim. Where is the push by Blacks in the South to regain the 1,000,000 square miles of land taken illegally by the French and sold to the Anglos during the 'Louisiana Purchase'?
In fact, most Blacks in the Americas are not even aware that before Columbus they owned large regions of land and territory, ancient states and kingdoms in the Americas. We are not aware that the 'Church Edict' of 1450 was responsible for the enslavement of THE BLACKS FOUND IN THE AMERICAS AS WELL AS THOSE FOUND IN AFRICA, SOUTH INDIA, MELANESIA AND ELSEWHERE.
So, the time has come for Rasta to be in the forefront of the African Renaissance. Have a five year plan. Let Rasta organize, educate, establish, build. Let the Black world move forward instead of constantly begging and constantly allowing ourselves to be exploited. Things have to change and COMMON SENSE COMES BEFORE RELIGIOUS BELIEF.
