How do you know that you were not Napoleon with his expeditions to Africa in another lifetime? It is just every bit possible as you saying you were black in a previous lifetime. Because when you are saying this, you are only talking a possibility, unless you have solid evidence that could be confirmed. No one I know of has been able to stand up and prove how reincarnation works. You are only able to give a possibility not a surety.
Don’t you think it would be wise to address “our reality” in this present time? We can surely take stock in what is here and now. We can surely say who we are today. Yes, by the fruits of one’s labor….I would also add that when one evaluates whether one’s works are rightfully fruitful or not, the context of the world in which we live and the one’s place within the world are also important considerations on weighting things out.
“No one is an island” … facing the reality of our daily means looking at the reality of the society in which we live. The society we whites are born into rears us with arrogance and obliviousness, we receive “positive feedback” by falling into line with this conditioning…..unearned privilege and benefits.
To me spirituality is all about spiritualizing everything we do. Really spiritualizing everything we do is a must.
What values do we place to spirituality?
To me the first ones that come to mind are….Truth, Justice, and Responsibility…???
I think these values are the “stronger common links”…
Sighting these values doesn’t negate us having to address race, quite the opposite…they call us to be true, just and responsible in how we live our lives….addressing race, and the unearned benefits and privileges we receive.
If we can agree that just these three words are of the family of spirituality…then….
Why are we afraid to seriously live it? Why do we refuse to truly examine ourselves? Why do we refuse to address what our white existence means in the context of the world in which we now live?
