My concern in the matter is that the issue of these women being raped is not being given attention, because it is being bundled up with all the other political violence that is happening in the country.

The police have several times refused to get involved in what they call "political matters". What it means is that if a bunch of thugs beat the hell out of you for having a private newspaper, or for not having a party card or for wearing red ( the MDC colours) the police do not want to help you, they will tell you straight up that it is "political matter"- their words.

As for Jackson's race, that is neither here nor there. I don't think anyone complained when she worked at ZBC as a DJ/presenter. She is not the only Zimbabwean who has started a station abroad, but she is one of many media people who have had to work abroad.

I am a Zimbabwean, and so is Jackson. We have never met, but we have our country in common.
