This is to inform our African Family, that at 7pm on Wednesday December 22nd, a Iyagel took a flight to Ethiopia on African Liberation Business, and was also able to take along $500.00 for Elder Ras Negus, which is the money which was collected from those who contributed to the Elder Negus Fund. So even as I write this post, this Iyagel should have arrived there 5 or more hours ago.
Presently we are trying to raise funds for the women quarters in Shashamane Ethiopia. We already have $450.00 but the total estimate to complete the building is $5000.00 as was told to us by the Elders in Ethiopia, when we spoke with them, while having our recent meeting about two weeks ago.
Since Ethiopia is where most Rastafari people are talking about going to reside, then it does make sense for us to prepare accomodations in advance, especially for women and children. There is much work to be done in that area, but we can accomplished these projects one by one. We are very thankful for what we have recieved for Ras Negus as well as the women Quarters, but I am certain that this contribution was only done by just a few people, and I am here wondering why certain people did not make their contributions.
I really do not think that $5000.00, is a large amount of money for a Nation of black people. If we are talking about African's liberation and restoration, and cannot afford $5000.00, by way of contributions, to build a house for our women in Shashamane Ethiopia, then it shows that we are only just talking, singing and praying, but when it comes to practicalizing things, and to create social and cultural prosperity for our people, we are failing as we live from day to day. We must do better as a race of people.
One of the water tank is finish according to reports, at a cost of $1500.00. We will need to build other tanks in the future, but for now, let us try to complete the female quarters. I am looking forward for positve responses from our collective African family.
Again I send many oceans of blessings and self determination to African People everywhere
