Whilst I do not accept the label 'white rastafari' I am of a pinkish hue, the answer IMHO is : in the majority of cases you cannot. Assuming that you can take the information on board yourself (which is very difficult and painful) and then work through ALL the ways your position in society is beneficial to you, you may eventually arrive at a place where you can show that truth to others. The ones most likely to overstand this journey are probably those halfway there already.
I have tried to pose questions about 'privilege' to the wider community through bulletin boards and if it is possible to get 'mobbed' over the internet, that is what happened.
What this showed me was how far away from comprehension the masses truly are and how absolutely many would defend their 'privileged' position by not accepting it exists. I am not an intellectual, being articulate in a discussion, especially one that tends to get heated, throws me a little. I live good and clean, do my works where and when I can and always offer knowledge where appropriate.
I and those like me do not require acceptance, nor do we seek authority, we simply humble ourselves and act where we can to break down barriers amongst our peers.
