You said someone told you this : "Hence, the name of the place "Badagry"; meaning that a bad agreement was made. The Brutish were the deceitful ones involved in the underhanded affair."

As we are striving towards truth, we cannot use lies. Yes, the brutish have walked through acres of blood, but, when we bring things foward, we must be sure that these things are factual. To present fiction as fact will only lessen the credibility of our version. If the man (or woman) who told you the fakeness about Badagry is still in your area, watch out for him (or her). Badagry existed long before the brutish or any other 'white' stepped onto that coast. The name is from the Gun, I will post once I find out what it means in that language.
