I think this is a good reasoning to develop.

I agree with encouraging Africans to learn and use African languages. I can understand how leaders on the continent could be speaking in a European language, and many people do not understand what is being said and done. But would it be unproblematic if African leaders spoke or transacted official business in one or two African languages while their nation is made of many more language groups? Ethiopia is one example of how people can be alienated based on how an official language is adopted.

Since Africa has a variety of languages, learning different languages was a matter of basic survival for many Africans on the continent. Because many Black Africans see European countries as economically wealthy, they will learn ‘European’ languages in an attempt to enhance their economic situation.

For most Diaspora Africans the situation is different. It has to be shown how learning African languages can enhance their material and/or spiritual development.

Language is not a barrier if one knows what one is trying to achieve.
