Yes, nuff respect to Rosa Parks AND to all the ones whose names and faces are not known. I forget where I read this, but it was what I considered a reliable source, talking about how Rosa Parks was deliberately chosen to be the one not to give up her seat, as opposed to some "rougher" looking (read darker-skinned) and less "educated" "well mannered" people who were not considered to be an "acceptable face" of the movement.
Also advocates of absolute non violence in all situations, should be aware that many of the marches sponsored by Dr. King et al were escorted by the Deacons for Defense, an armed black self-defense organization which engaged in shootouts with the Klan etc. And for most of his political life Dr. King kept a loaded revoler in his desk.
