Re: Who feels it knows it
In Response To: Re: Who feels it knows it ()

Selassielive said:

"I think that whites can play a role in the Rastafari movement.

They can spend just as much energy enlightening their people as they spend bringing in their (per)version of Rastafari livity to Afrikan people here."

* It looks like to me that Selassielive thinks that whites can play a role, but that role may not be the role that whites are comfortable with because it questions the role that we are used to playing - one of direction, leadership, co-optation, watering down to suit our needs(and that comes on many levels that reveal if one is willing to look deeper and deeper). I think I stated something similar.

I said:

"I think we can identity with the Rastafari movement, but we have to keep in mind that positions of authority and direction are out of our reach because of the circumstances that I have explained – that should be part and parcel of our duty is to realize our place and part in the scheme of things."

and you said:

"good is , you say whites can identify with rastafari . so you now disagree to agree to disagree with selassielive ."

* so how am i disagreeing with selassielive?

i admit too i act foolish in life Rob, i am sorry you took that "abundance of water" quote so personally.
