I don't buy your interpretation of that story. My idea of a god will not sanction stealing. But hey, if yours do then so be it. I am cool with the knowledge that stealing is not good and that good is an extension of my 'god'.
You also gave us some other interesting information that could explain many things. I am just quoting it here to be addressed later.
