* that's a good question, but not what i was thinking when i posted this. i posted it because it shows that within the legendary origins of the Qement there is an account of these people coming from Canaan a long time ago along with the Beta Israel(Falasha). Still though - although these people are ancient, the ideas which would become Judaism are even MORE ancient and have there origins in Africa several thousands of years beforehand.
I have made many posts which trace Judaic ideas back to their original context within different African cultures which I have gleaned from my own research.
Basically my idea is that the Jews in Ethiopia and the Qement people are from Canaan and perhaps represent the original stock of the indigenous peoples who resided there. Their traditions are far more ancient and untainted than any form of modern Judaism. BUT even after have said that - even the traditions of Judaism, regardless of how ancient the form which is practiced are remnants of even more ancient antiquity which can be found by studying African cultures and civilizations which existed millenia before. WHen we look at the cultures of Kush/Kemet/Nubia/Ta-Seti/Aethiopia - HERE we see the originals.
So from that idea - Rastafari can indeed trace legitimacy to the ancient Canaanite Ethiopian Jews if it wants - or it can go back even further and trace itself to the root of even these - and it is all from the heartbeat of Africa at the origin of the River Nile - the original EDEN.
Bless.
