the issue of reparation is not just for the care of rastafari people. this is an issue of the correction and atonement for 400 years and counting of criminal acts commited against mama africa and african people who were bought and sold on the auction block like some commodity. the companies, families, governments that were built on the backs of black people must be held accountable. these companies/families/governments must be researched, weeded out, and made to make reparation. this is not simply about every individual "white" person writing a check to every individual "black" person. such a perspective of reparation is only 2dimensional and this view in my opinion has shackled the cause of reparation from being fullfilled. rastafari people taking care of rastafari people is a must; just as a son takes care of his father in his old age, it is expected and it is a duty as rastafari, therefore rastafari taking care of rastafari elders becomes more than an issue of reparation.
