The conspiracy goes further, the government also recruited international apologists, mostly liberal whites and so-called Pan-Africanists. Their job has been to gush out tribute, denounce any possible alternative viewpoint- even if it is based on personal experience- as emanating from Western interests.

One of these apologists got a Sky News crew in to Zimbabwe a few years ago without checking with everybody. He got beaten up by the CIO, and I hear now speaks ill of the Mugabe regime.
