or at least if you are you have increadibly high standards for what passes as being bright... or perhaps you mean foolish, in the sense that the sufis and zen folk do?

Still, with the cold thing, does it then follow that the innuit or sarni are necessarily savage because of their cold environment, or for that matter that inland indigenous tribes folk in my own oz are more fierce than their more resource rich costal brethren. i think not. Which is not to say that people from extreme climates cant be fierce, but that it may be too wide a generalisation.

I have absolutely no doubt many of my european forebears ate a bit of human from time to time. But this is a) generally of ritual and cultural significance in most places where it happens, and, b) by no means a habit limited to any one particular part of the world (or to hungry rugby players after plane crashes...) I have read pretty convincing accounts of canibalism in europe, asia, africa, and the pacific.

seems we all cant get enough of that stuff that tastes like chicken.

I will however, and with a heavy heart, accept total responsibility for the european invention of the scourge of fast food. A thing many, many times worse than enjoying the occasional bit of long pig.
