At the same time, when whites "assist" black efforts by joining those groups . . . well I&I already overstand what contradictions, tensions and problems this creates.
Perhaps, when whites form their own groups to assist African liberation, black organizations can reject their assistance when they see that the white effort is not effective. This would serve as a check on the white "feel good" situation the I described. That is, so long as the black organizations don't become dependent on the assistance and have the strength to say no . . .
