You got your grammar right.Zimbabwe WAS colonised. But to say that the people of Zimbabwe are mentally colonised is to vague and general a term.

The main obstacle facing Zimbabwe today is an oligarchy of gerontocrats.Ironically,these were the same people who battled the forces of colonialism. That was then. Today,it is them who hold us back from our destiny.

This thing about there being whites pulling the strings- that too is too simplistic an explanation. I find more logic in the more obvious, Mr Mugabe and his lot have lost focus.
