Of course, more Africans need to take responsibility for themselves. More need to become better informed. Those who are somewhat informed need to DO their part.

Africans on the continent should not expect ‘Africa oriented Diasporan Africans’ to take sides in their local disputes without affected sides showing interest in our objectives. Without sides demonstrating a willingness to cooperate with us to do what is in the best interest of all Africans on and off the continent, we cannot take sides.

They really cannot hold us Diasporan Africans responsible for their ignorance and willingness to kill each other. They can cooperate with us to understand ways around western corporate greed. But we out here cannot force them to the table. We cannot build on greed and arrogance either. We can cooperate and build on mutual respect.

A first step towards taking responsibility is to become better informed. The next step is to act better and set better examples. ‘Africa oriented Diasporan Africans’ usually draw ideas and better models for living from all over the continent of Africa, and not just one ethnic group. Ethnic groups on the continent NEED to do the same.

While western interests fuel most conflicts in Africa, and every where else, they would not work if Africans on and off the continent were not receptive to western greed and manipulations. Africans have to take responsibility for their part.
