Re: How the EOC sights Rastafari

His Imperial Majesty never sent this man to Zimbabwe to preach to Zimbabwean Rastafarians. In fact, until I saw the article in an international magazine, I had never heard of this Abuna Yeshehaq.

I attend the EOC, and I know for a fact that many of the people there are Rastafarians. I suspect one of the priests too to be a crypto-Rasta. The EOC does not force any one to renounce His Imperial Majesty's divinity, I have met Ethiopians who also regard Him as divine, this view they have had long before they became aware that it was shared by people all over the world.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church has a lot to explain for itself. When the Dergue seized power, they said they were removing an archaic regime. How come the Church- which the socialist Dergue said was a tool for keeping the masses calm- survived that revolution? Because the EOC became a tool for the Dergue, and now for Zenawi.

If the Church won't recognise Rastafari, that is up to it. But we who do, well, we are not going to depart from this belief. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not next year.
