I have found that there are some "titles" which are not listed in that list I presented - including the Order of the Garter. That is besides the point though - I really only listed them because you were persistant that some of the titles be shown. I think it would be safe to say that many kingdoms in the world have some sort of relationship with each other through bestowing titles, honorary or not.
My point is not to make Selassie I look like a lapdog to Europe - on the contrary if you read my reasoning, you will see where I am coming from. I am merely trying to take into account the historical context of the monarchy of Abyssinia/Ethiopia. The fact that Ethiopia is a Christian nation in the heart of an area that was a major area of importance in the spread of Christianity vs. Islam makes it obvious to me why European Christian military orders would want to make inroads and connections with this kingdom although I would not go as far as Yan did in saying: "Ethiopia was used by European Christian crusaders to put an ancient spin on their own political agenda and certainly the Ethiopian monarchies appeared to have little problem with this agenda either"
