Re: Some black people think that whites are the Go

Ras Marcus: "And as a result, people who are not conscious, are always looking up to them as the greatest, and therefore in their own mind, they want to be like them or at least want to be with them."

i see nothing wrong with this statement, even if it is a generalization as u pointed out, that just means that it is generally true. Black people have imbibed a lot of poor racial concepts, and since they can't become white physically, they want the next 'best' thing.

Still, I won't tell anyone how to exercise their rights, as they have a right to actt on their truth once it does not directly infringe on the rights of others. People have a right to ignorance. However, the so-called preferences of people point to a deep pyschological complex that must be addressed.

"It is painting with a pretty wide brush to say that light color children are generally treated better in households w/other black children. I am sure this is the case in many households, however I would not agree that this is an occurence that is prevalent in an abundance of homes. "

In my opinion, this is not overstating the facts, as i would say that it is generally true. And it is understandable, that the dynamics of the family would reflect the dynamics of the society, because the family is a microcosm of society. Generally. they act out the general norms and values of society. It is only when people start to become TRULY conscious that they can work towards becoming masters and mistresses of their own destiny, instead of being slaves to social norms. That is why it is so important for race, color, class and gender issues to be addressed, as without addressing these within themselves people remain with the poor attitudes that is result of being socialized in a corrupt society.

The illusions surrounding race are sustained by the fact that these issues are not addressed in the mainstream, and the many people with deep experiences are not given the space to articulate their experiences at the hands of the system.
