Its Rita who wanted to move uptown not Bob. If Bob's father had treated his mother badly; he would have to leave town or risk losing his head. his mother might have felt that she got some status in the community from their relationship.
The bible was written after the Babylonian Captivity, when those who went into captivity; became lighter in complexion by the rape and intermarraige with the Assyrians. The books were written since then implying skin color grudges. The original stories had nothing to do with skin color prejudices or bigotry.

The problem we face is how not to let today's sufferers become tomorrow's downpressers. Whatever
and however these things affected InI growing up made us saw and sought African Redemption in RastafarI. Bob was teased atimes by some about his father, but he just brushed it off and did the best works he was able to do. In some families there are a variety of skin shades.
