This to me seems like a real account of how many Blacks came into Rastafari. They made the connections through the European Bible, and interpreted things differently in their efforts to break away from that White domination. It is in that context, many can relate to how some still use the European Bible today.
Some general questions:
What of those Africans who did not use the Christian Bible to try to recapture ancient roots?
What of those who discovered Rasta through more indigenous research in African history and spirituality?
What of those who don’t even know of the name Rasta, but have the natural livity and/or are also for the liberation of Africans and home and aboard?
Can something be only defined by a word?
