Fact is though - how do we know exactly that Geez and Amharic do not have a more ancient African root? The Ethiopians(including Abyssinia) have been migrating to and from Africa for a long long time - DNA evidence shows that even those with admixture of "Arabian" blood still have some of the oldest bloodline known today. Ethiopia has also been trading with many areas including the "middle east" and India for a long long time -there is naturally some cultural diffusion that occurs with this. with that in mind - the language cannot be simply described as the result of "indo-european" conquerors. i overs your point though - i hope you see where i am coming from.
