From what I have learned, not ALL biblical stories are allegories - history and allegories have gotten mish-mashed within the bible. Also, I never would pretend that the Egyptian "Book of the Dead" is non-fiction - it is an allegorical story, literalizing it would be the same mistake that many people who literalize the bible make.

The I talks of truth within - yes and these books, AT BEST, would serve to help I discover this truth within I and I. If they are not doing that, then what is the point?

For I part ALSO, I am not saying the Kebra Negast is not true - AGAIN, what level is the truth to be found - can it only be found if I take everything 100% literally? As I said previously, it seems to be a a story of a nation taking on the identity of a new religion, or perhaps I should say, a new FORM of a religion -
sometimes nations do this to fit in with the political, economic landscape of the time - and Abyssinia(Ethiopia) is not immune to this.

I for one have never chastised Abyssinia for becoming Christian - this is a historical fact, HOW COULD I? If Abyssinia did not take this action - it may not of been able to maintain its relatively independent status when Europe and Arabs were exploiting the rest of the continent - actions are sometimes POLITICALLY EXPEDIENT - and the I knows that the Abyssinian rulers were pure genius' at strategy. I will not though CON-tinue to pretend though that Christianity and Judaism in a more ancient form did not exist in Ethiopia and Khemet before the coming of the bible and all these stories in the more modern form they are in now.
