what are you talking about??? Afrikans have been slaughtering each other em masse for millenia.
you can see it carved in heirohglyphs, its tales are passed down orally beaten out in drum songs and yes even documented by your favorite, the white historian. whether its egytians over nubians or any other set of people.

Ras Adam, maybe you should highlight your evidence to show that Africans have been slaughtering each other en masse before the coming of Europeans and Arabs. Of course, conflict has always existed, but the slaughter that you speak of, is more a feature of European attempts at conquest than of Africa before the Europeans. Of course relations between peoples were not always peace and love, no one is trying to propagate that.
There is quite a bit of pre-colonial history that documents the inter -trading that took place between different african peoples. For instance, this certainly needed to be the case for knowledge and traditions to flow from the Twa people in central africa all the way to Egypt.
The notion that Africa was ravaged by tribal slaughter before the coming of outsiders has no historical basis and to me, is an attempt to assuage white guilt and escape responsibility. It is similar to the claims by some that Africans practised slavery, so Europeans are less responsible for enslaving Africans.
As hard as this may be for some to swallow, Europeans brought destruction, deceit and slaughter never before seen in human history.

Ras Adam said:"but dont try and rewrite history to fit your fantasy that it was all peace and love on the continent till your foreparents showed up."
************************************
Well this is your fantasy: no one advocated that it was all peace and love on the continent before the Europeans came.
Europeans have been largely responsible for a lot of the problems (such as tribal wars) that Africa is presently experiencing. Chancellor Williams shows this clearly in his book Destruction of Black Civilizations.
