Did I read correctly?
In Response To: Re: They can't remember... ()

Blessed Noble Ras

I&I seem to be interpreting ur words wrong. Please clarify this statement.

“I am Afrikan before I am Rastafari.”

Has not the premise “Jah first and all things shall follow” and “Seek ye the Kingdom of Jah first?”. Has the I put a temporary physical title before the divine King of Kings? Before there was nation vs. nation, there was Rastafari. Rastafri was not created because of oppression, it simply emerged as a result of it. Rastafari is the divinity and there is nothing above that as far as identity. I&I overs that as a Rastaman IT IS UR DUTY to seek out places in which Africans home and abroad are mobilizing towards the complete liberation of African peoples. That is the Ixample HIM gave us. That is one of the foremost tenants of the manifestation of Jah’s Kindom. But Jah is first….and I say dat without apology.

“We must look into ourselves, into the depth of our souls. we must become something we have never been and for which our education and experience and enviroment have ill-prepared us. We must become bigger than we have been. more courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook. We must become of a new race, overcoming petty prejudice, OWING OUR ULTIMATE ALLEGIENCE NOT TO NATIONS but to our fellow men within the human community.” HIM Haile Selassie I
