Re: Haiti After the Press Went Home

Give Thanks Kristine,

I checked out the link that you provide for Zmagazine and I found the article most useful. the most appalling thing in this drug bust business is the way that it's being used by the INS to criminalize immigration. Folks who have been years for decades and were confronted with minor drug charges or the like have to do time and be returned home. Unfortunately, if they are from Cuba, Haiti, and Columbia they will probably spend a bunch of time at the Krome Detentions center(s) throughout the US before they are sent back home. In addition, when folks are caught with boatloads of marijuana or cocaine they should be returned to their native countries to face charges and they should not be kept in the US where they are treated like terrorist. Not surprisingly, John Aschcroft claimed that Al Quaeda had an active cell in Ayiti or moreover, that Pakistani terrorist were using Haiti as a migratory passage way into the US. Why not Cuba or Jamaica or even Columbia. They want to damn us for our poverty and because we are black and because of historical vengeance. I don't see them accusing poor Eastern Europeans of trafficking drugs or harboring terrorist. They have large Muslim sects and in fact, The Big Cat himself head of Al Quaeda is half German and was trained by the Russians. So they should be looking in their own backyard. This is close to the situation with the criminilization of the drug trade in the US. The white folks are in the DEEP COVER on this and they are making all of the money. I once read in a well written text on Rastafarians that it was the white run sectors of the RastafarI trod that were really in charge of the drug trade. Yet, who gets busted and who is most often depicted in media ( tv, movies, radio, magazines, newspapers, internet, videos, etc...) as the real drug dealer. Yes they sold us for 40 pieces of silver and I await my deliverance. I mean when will the day come when the Truth sees the light and we are given the proper respect and rights?

Best regards and stay well and connected.
