Re: Haiti After the Press Went Home *LINK*

I am thinking regarding the Drug issue, it has to be exposed the U S is the real culprit there also. They need and support on a mass level "illegal" drugs entering this country to continue the downpression of the disenfranchised.
The U S government role as the major player in the drug trade serves a multi-faceted front. In the case of Haiti, similar to what has happened in other Caribbean and Latin American countries, first the U S decides that the government is actually working for the people, becoming a "threat" to the stronghold of Corporate interests.
Haiti and Aristide individually, were no threat directly. Efforts were made to assist the disenfranchised, an imbalance created by the U S and French dominating interference in Haiti's domestic affairs.
Had this administration been allowed to come to fruition, the threat was that other countries would follow suit, and this could then pose an imminent threat to the Stranglehold the U S has in the region. Now try to sell this to the to the average U S citizen/tax payer who is still under the illusion the U S is a democracy and the U S government actually supports any outside countries right to self government and they would be outraged.
So instead the government paints a picture of Haiti as a major drug trafficker after the fact of the coup. Hence another episode in the racist policy "War on Drugs" is on, with major support from the ignorant citizens who, have bought into all the Wars the U S is currently engaged in.
