Re: House of Rostau(RASTA)
In Response To: Re: House of Rostau(RASTA) ()

what about the idea of Christ dying and rising from the dead? surely this is a holdover from the Egyptian idea of allegorical resurrection.

one can take the character of Jesus literally or allegorically. one can take the "afterlife" to be literal or allegorical.

the fact is that the scriptures - whether you want to accept this or not - have within them the same mystical knowledge directly from the older cultures of the Nile Valley. i do not personally overstand what you describe as the "obsession of the Egyptians with death and the afterlife" - I do know however that the Abyssinians also hold onto many of these same rites for the dead straight from the Egyptian ritual though.

If honoring the ancestors who have passed is somehow obsessive or not in line with our modern concept and disassociation with death and failure to grasp it as a reality - then so be it.
