Did I hear you say, "don't forget that britain banned slavery many years before ethiopia" ???
Weren't the ethiopians enslaved under British colonialism. Hasn't the operation often been to modify the codes of open slavery locally while maintaining the most overt slaverly in remote places under the same imposition. Anyway, your comment reminds me of the propaganda that says African Americans contributed to the slave trade, too, by buying slaves---when, in fact, African Americans were conditioned to buy their kidnapped relatives and other loved ones for ransom. Today, the situation for Africans is similar. What is the similarity. I'd like to hear it from you or someone else.
