How pure are you? I am "pure", i.e, I have the "typical" African features. But take a look at my grandfather, and you see a man who resembles some of the Black Americans. My father was also lighter than me, as are two of my brothers.

A lot of the "Mix" is coming from distaff lineages, my great-grandmother may have had a bit of Portuguese in her ( there was this Portuguese explorer/bandit named Gouveia whose many daughters with local women were much favoured by kings and princes because of their exotic features.)

So does this mean that I am not black enough for you Pianke? Even though I can trace my lineage to that same Piankhi and use that illustrious genealogy as a source of inspiration, anchorage and identity? I have had this same discussion with another contributor to this board about whether a Black skin alone makes you African, and it soon degenerated in to name-calling. I am hoping you are above such, and maybe explain yourself further.
