Rastas in Prison

I greet you in the name of H.I.M. Haile Selassie I, JAH Rastafari! Ever Living! Ever Faithful! Ever Sure! and the Rt. Excellent Marcus Mosiah Garvey! Our bredren incarcerated in the Commondeath of Virginia need your help. A small group has been held in segregation for the past 19 months because they refused to comply with a grooming policy (DOP 864) which dictated that the hair be cut above the collar and around the ears. They have had all privileges (such as they were) suspended, including no personal phone calls or visitation, loss of good time, loss of commissary, etc. VDOC met their defiance with a concerted assault aimed at forcing compliance at any cost, violating their own rules and regulations in the process. Yet, the "864 prisoners" as they are called, remain strong and steadfast in their belief. So, the struggle continues. . . For more information, please contact: Prosser-Truth Division #456, UNIA-ACL, P.O. Box 25694, Richmond, VA 23260, (804)573-2519. JAH guide and protect. Selah.
