Maybe what Bob meant

I had read somewhere (a message board or magazine)someone criticizing Bob fro his statemenat about education "I don't have education, I have inspiration, If I had education I would be a damn fool." The criticism was that he could have influenced many to take school serious.

well I came across a passage today that I think may really relate to what Bob meant(though we will never know).

The passage goes like this---

"The educated man is the adapted man, because he is better 'fit' for the world. Translated into this practice, this concept is well suited to the purpose of the oppressors, whose tranquillity rests on how well men fit the world the oppressors have created, and how little they questioned it". (Freire)

Inspiration instead of education? We could use a lot more of that.

P.s.
This came out of a book called "The Peaceable Classroom" by Mary Rose O'Reilly

If there are any teachers out there I highly recommend it.
