Nyahkween I'm not accepting your apology yet because you are still being rude to Kelly. And saying that my Guyanese brother Dr. Ivan Van Sertima (author of "They Came Before Columbus" and numerous other crucial works) must not have done anything for Black people because you've never heard of him is the dumbest excuse for ignorance I've ever heard.
To say someone is "ignorant" is not an insult, it simply means they don't know something. If you don't know, then find out.
Also, there are many thousands of people who have sacrificed and DIED so that we could enjoy what little "freedom" we have today, whose names you will NEVER hear, cos they weren't written into the history books like MLK and Malcolm X,
they were ordinary men, women and children who never got in the spotlight and never wanted to, they just stepped to the frontlines and did what needed to be done without asking for or receiving any recognition.
Here are some names for you to check out:
Dr. Walter Rodney
Ramona Africa and the MOVE organization
Mumia Abu-Jamal
Sundiata Acoli
Dr. Mutulu Shakur
Lucy Parsons
Robert F. Williams
Assata Shakur
Thomas Sankara
Julius Nyerere
Cuffy (Guyana's national hero)
The Angola 3
Lorenzo Komboa Ervin
George Jackson
Fred Hampton and Fred Hampton, Jr.
Ras Tone (my late uncle- quite well-known in
G.T., he did a TV show there towards the end
of his life)
