Re: RASTA and Bob Marley: 21 Years on

I am very happy with the recognition of the fact that slowly the movement is turning into two mainstreams, namely that of the Christ doctrine (12 Tribes etc) and that of the "No Yesus" doctrine (Muta etc), in other words, the Nyabinghy and the Tribes/Orthodox Idren, a difference which is not really there since recently, but it has been more and more clear as time passes by.

I do wish to stress, many of my Rastafarian Idren and Sistren who are of the Christ doctrine (let me use these words in this context) are not accepted by the Christian mainstream. It's almost like you have to bring Selassie down, can not see any spiritual significance in HIM, before the attacks stop. In my attempts to fellowship with Christians, I have gotten much bad vibes, although this can not be said of all Christians, and I do wish to say that I have met many Christians as well who are not so.

You can't say about Selassie what I say about Selassie for many Christians. They don't want to take thought and care into their considerations when they read my Itations.

Why do I write this? It is to bring another point into the discussion. While the Christianity within the Rastafarian concept of Gad and others is being recognized by their Idren Rasta and used by some to exclude them from a certain Identity that they can not deny within themselves, some call it Rasta others call it Dread, in the same time the Rastafarianity is being recognized by Christians, who, for reasons unknown, do not wish to see any spiritual signifgicance in HIM, and not even within HIM's personality.

BTW: Wasn't Bob Marley a member of the 12 Tribes?

One Love,
Messian Dread
