Hope is the key

My little one looked me straight in the eye and said daddy oh daddy please don't lie.

Mans been together for oh so long, will we really ever get along?

I just have to know - just have to know.

Why do some hate the color of skin, while others hate the religion I'm in?

Haven't our leaders read books before, couldn't we talk instead of war?

I just have to know - just have to know.

Thousand of years can we get it right, or are we destined to always fight?

it happens over here and it happens over there, doesn't anyone really care?

I just have to know - just have to know.

Well son I'll tell you I heard a man, he talked of unity throughout the land.

The man I heard he made a stand and he talked of love as the master plan.

So now you know - now you know.

He said being negative is no kind of life, we can't be causing so much strife.

If one man, two man, maybe three, then there's HOPE and that's the key.

So now you know - now you know.

Now I know for me and you, that HOPE is the key to pull us through.

So put out your hand to your fellow man for we must keep the hope to achieve our plan.
