To me it all boils down to power- who has it and who doesn't.
It ain't just skin color (although obviously that's a huge part of it), cos there are black people who seem very 'white' to look at, and there are dark-skinned people in Sudan (who insult the prophet Muhammad by calling themselves 'Muslims') who are playing the role of whites, enslaving non-Muslim Sudanese. Many of these 'Muslims' are light-skinned, but some are just as black as the people they're enslaving.
It ain't attitude or beliefs or nothing like that, cos there's a huge variety of attitudes and beliefs in any 'race'.
