I am sure I'm late on this.....Just picked up a copy of the current issue of "The Beat" at the newsstand and read Roger Steffens, "The Year Of Jamaica" article....
Wanted to congratulate you, Sister Makeda, as blessed mother, and your beautiful son, Makonnen,
for him being awarded the Musgrave Award at the Institute of Jamaica.
Roger says....The Musgraves are a kind of mini Nobel prize awarded for outstanding service in the fields of literature, arts and science. The FIRST Youth Musgrave was created ESPECIALLY for 16 year old Makonnen Blake-Hannah. He was honored for his achievements in computer science, including his award-winning Web site designs and his tutoring of youth in the inner city.....
16 YEARS OLD! This young man is truly my hero already knowing there is much needed to be done.
I know, Sis Makeda, you are very proud and should be for you brought this child, guided him and now it is his turn to continue JAH works....
Give Thanks and Respect
