Re: Help me with a few things
In Response To: Help me with a few things ()

Rastafari is the story of a black KING come to fulfill the judeo-christian revelation which reveal first to black people here in these days of appalling racism. I truly feel no insult if my black brothers and sisters want to know my aims and objectives.
I too am a teacher and my students too say 'Aw Ms. Gomez, you're black!" but I say to them no I'm white and my white skin gives lots of perks in our society whether I choose or not. Like Nelson Mandela says, we need truth in order to have unity. I am glad when ones question me. After all these years of subjugation to white point of view, am I going to grudge my black bredren and sistren's questioning of my motives? If ones haven't though long and hard over these matters I don't see how they call themselves rasta. Of course it's one love, one love and unity all the time. This is how we get there.
Respectfully,
rootsie
