Honetsly I beleive whites become Rasta to become closer to blacks, well to feel closer to blacks or they think that blacks will welcome them more. They feel bad for the past, possibly. But I also think it's an image thing. Most white Rastas I know do not know much about the bible or HIM words, but have dreads and smoke herb and have some black friends. This is my opinion and honesty. I am not applying this to all whites but in my opinion a majority. I know I will get alot a critism about this post but I am being honest, because it is what I see in my life experiences and travels. But being a white rasta is not going to get you closer to being black. One of Rasta teachings is know oneself!!
