Mixed people can identify with any or all of their ancestry much the same like everyone else. They can also make a cosmetic identification with Africa on the basis of our common recent and or ancient ancestry.

All racial identifications outside of the people becoming culturally minded are cosmetics.

The real test of a person's ability to genuinely interact with our diversity and commonalities is their cultural awareness based on the understanding and realization of its deep interconnected roots.

People have to appreciate the fact that simply saying they belong to a race or mixed race can have many meanings. It can give a general idea of the history and possible social/anti-social leanings of the individual. Depending on the choice made the individual will still have to address the feelings of alienation, acceptance, superior and inferior complexes.

They should be aware that at first meetings, people's opinion of them would be heavily influenced by our recent history in dealing with people of different shades as it pertains to European/American contrived class systems.

People are really free to choose to identify with what they want but the general public will still view them along the lines of popular misinformed attitudes and prejudices.

I wish people comment without allowing the discussion to degenerate.
