The Storm of Life

Subject: God's Word - Protect Us, Lord!

Lord, there is no way we in Jamaica
can deal with Tropical Storm Iris
at this time. Please place your covering
around Jamaica at this time.
Forgive us our sins
and fill us with your grace.
We place our trust in you.
Amen

Words from a Simple Heart

The offerings of life are vast and varied. Both troubles and
blessings are laid at our feet. Many times, we have little or
no control over the things that present themselves. We do,
however, have complete and total control over which of them
we pick up and carry with us.

Life is either a prelude to promise or problems, depending
on the view you choose. Your outlook and attitude are the
interpretations of life you choose for yourself and the basis
of what you give back to the world.

Should you choose to do so, you can keep all the goodness
for yourself and dish out the darkness to everyone else.
Should you choose to do so, you can shroud yourself in
anger, pity, indifference or hopelessness and spread your
resentment everywhere you go. Should you choose to do so,
you can accept this world as an imperfect place, muster the
courage to face its challenges, receive its blessings with
gratitude and be the example of change you wish to make in
it. Should you choose to do so, you can lift the lives of others,
however you are able, and experience the surprising surge
of your spirit as it begins to fulfill its purpose.

Check your ego at the door and reflect on the every-day
choices you make. Is every conversation filled with concrete
complaint to justify how miserable you are, or concrete
action to do something about it?

Hold your candle high and light your world.

You have a voice, you have choice, and you have the
freedom to use them, should you choose to do so.

Living in love and loving life,

Terri McPherson

NEW YORK NOW

Hatred’s hot irons warm once strange and distant parts
Inspiring a new familiarity, chain linking individual
hearts.

>From evil evolves a resolve, a return to core human,

strength of
spirit
Tears and fears fade, make way, to a mirrored union,

we're all together in
it.

Now, no faceless pavement jockeys, beneath lady

liberty's flame
A home to diverse souls, this journey’s many neighbors

from this moment newly named.

Oh, Lord, let there be peace- let it begin with me.
Let there be love- let it begin with me
Let there be compassion- let it begin with me
Let there be charity- let it begin with me
Let there be gentleness- let it begin with me
Let there be understanding- let it begin with me
Let there be patience- let it begin with me
Let there be service- let it begin with me
Let there be listening- let it begin with me
Let there be joy- let it begin with me
